Here are my first attempts at 3D photography. I am using my Olympus D-300L digital camera on a tripod and moving the camera about three to four inches to the right and taking a second exposure. Nothing hi-tec here. There are several ways to view these types of pictures.
The two photos on the left are the "crossed eye" method. Put your thumb up at the screen and move your thumb toward your face. As your eyes cross you will see the image in the left two pictures blend into a middle picture. Shift your focus to the middle image. I have to keep my thumb in place to keep the image. Some people find this an easy method. It works great with larger pictures. See next page.
I like the parallel eye style. The middle and right photos work with this method. Just relax your eyes like you are looking at a distant object. The two pictures will again look like three but the center one will be in 3D! It takes a little practice but I find it quite comfortable. In both methods just ignore the "phantom" pictures on the left and right.
